Coverage of music you should know about
My goal every week will be to cover the new music you need to hear. I’ll give you my first impressions on some of the new music as it’s released each Friday as well as occasional write-ups on all sorts of music-related topics.
I’ve been passionate about music as long as I can remember. I’m always looking to discover new artists, genres, DJ mixes, as well as keep up with how the careers of the artists I already know and love are evolving. This venture is to take the end product of those efforts and filter it down to the things I find essential and worth sharing to a wider audience.
In the process of doing so, hopefully, we can create a thoughtful space for conversation around the music we all connect with.
Algorithms can’t capture it all
Don’t get me wrong, sometimes Spotify or Pandora can pull up a track you haven’t heard and it’s great. But missing in that is the joy of picking up something on a whim because who knows, it could be great and the cover looks awesome. Or the stuff you only knew about because your older sibling or cousin turned you on to it and you felt like you got in on it early.
I want to bring some of that real perspective and connection into this project (and hey maybe still share some Spotify playlists along the way who knows).

So why trust my opinion? I’m passionate about music. One of my favorite places to be is in a record store. I’m always searching for that next new band or artist I’m going to vibe with. I’m the one being accused of listening to the bands you’ve never heard of.
Part of the reason I’m doing this is while there are a number of music criticism sites or blogs or podcasts, none of them quite hit the spot for me so I’m hoping to create the outlet that I didn’t find but found myself wanting.
